Developer Experience is a documentation and developer research team based in Bellevue, Washington, just outside Seattle. We provide developer documentation services, products, and consulting to teams shipping in fast-moving technical spaces.

AI has changed the pace and scope of development work, and documentation has to keep up without losing the qualities that make it worth reading. Our process puts AI where it serves technical writers best: gathering research materials and scaffolding initial structure from writer input. Writers focus on what matters; content oversight, high-priority material, advanced wordcraft, and information architecture. The result is documentation that keeps pace with AI-agent-driven development cycles while staying crafted by veteran technical writers.

Developer research projects drive our product and service development. They produce the documentation tools and processes we use with clients, and many run in partnership with companies whose products we integrate and document. Some of the documentation we ship from these projects is available directly on our documentation website and our blog.

Robotics, AI, and game development are the areas we follow most closely. You'll find us at industry exhibitions and events in all three, both around Seattle and in Japan, where we spend significant time each year meeting the regional developer community.
